GREEN CIRCLES es una serie de obras creadas con círculos formados por árboles plantados en una forma participativa y comunitaria.
Cada GREEN CIRCLE recibe un nombre elegido por la comunidad involucrada en el proceso de su creación.
Entre noviembre y diciembre de 2014, fue creado el Green Circle “Círculo de Salamanca para la vida” (https://vimeo.com/130599941 ) en colaboración con el Vía Parque Isla de Salamanca (VIPIS), próximo a la ciudad de Barranquilla en el Caribe Colombiano, en el marco de la exposición “Oscilaciones”, auspiciada por Parques Nacionales de Colombia. Allí en colaboración con los funcionarios de parque fueron plantados 13 Cantagallos, árboles símbolos del parque, en un gesto simbólico de renacimiento después de un fuerte incendio que devastó más de 17 hectáreas de manglar en el primer semestre de ese año. Junto al círculo de árboles se creó un documento colectivo: “Carta de Salamanca” (https://vimeo.com/130599942 ), en el cual los funcionarios relatan la experiencia vivida durante los días del incendio, testimonio que no habían podido compartir. Algunas imágenes hechas por el grupo durante las quemas, también fueron incorporadas al trabajo (https://vimeo.com/124382277).
CARTA PARA SALAMANCA
Como parte de la obra GREEN CIRCLES realizada en Salamanca, se creó la obra CARTA PARA SALAMANCA En este trabajo se presenta un colectivo con una transcripción de la evidencia dada durante un circulo de conversaciones propuestas por la artista y en la que los funcionarios del Vía Parque Isla Salamanca relacionan sus experiencias personales durante los incendios que amenazaron al parque y que iniciaron en abril de 2014. Las fotos tomadas por el grupo fueram incluídos en la documentación final. El objetivo de este trabajo es permitir la expresión de las voces que contribuyeron a apagar el incêndio, pero que no han podido hablar de su experiência y que necesitan contar su versión de lo ocurrido a la comunidad.

The GREEN CIRCLES / GREEN CIRCLES Series is formed from actions created on the different landscapes in which the work has already been done. Circles as a symbolic element are formed by collaborative plans and actions among participating communities. The works mark the selected spaces as life force and are chosen after the study of each context in which the GREEN CIRCLE will be created. It is a sensitive listening to material and immaterial, where memory is the main source of choice of trees, plants, documents and testimonies that integrate each work of this series. So far 6 GREEN CIRCLES have been created; in different countries of Latin America: Brazil (2), Colombia (2), Argentina (1) and Cuba (1).
Between November and December 2014, the SALAMANCA CIRCLE FOR LIFE was created within the framework of the OSCILACIONES exhibition commissioned by the National Parks of Colombia. The project proposed invited artists to investigate the park as a platform for action, taking as a trigger point the recent tragedy experienced by this space caused by a huge fire and destroyed more than 17 hectares of mangrove that year. In this way, I worked the whole process in collaboration with park employees and; from individual and collective choices; 13 Cantagallos were planted. A native species very important to the local ecosystem. Integrated to the planting were made conversation wheels for the creation of the document: LETTER TO SALAMANCA. In this, the officials who lived the fire directly report their experiences during the days of the fire. Images given by the participants were recreated through a new edition of art and incorporated into the work.
